Normal cleaning takes about 45 minutes and consists of scaling, followed by polishing. River Grove Dental Associates uses both manual and ultrasonic scalers to clean teeth of plaque and tartar build up. Manual scalers allow our dentists and dental hygenists to eliminate hardened calculus. Ultrasonic scalers use sound waves to break up calculus as the tip pulls it away. The polishing stage utilizes a rubber cup with polish attached to a small motor to whiten your teeth and make them shine!

We also perform scaling and root planings to treat more advanced peiodontal disease.
